Asclepius fascicularis, aka “Narrowleaf milkweed” or “Mexican whorled” is a California native that is usually found in watersheds, easements and berms. With its tall skinny stalk full of luscious and oftentimes varied leaves it actually feeds a ton of caterpillars. This plant matures to a bushy 3-4' and makes string bean like seed pods. The flowers are a group of blush and white inflorescence usually around 2 inches across. Native bees and smaller wasps are the primary pollinators.
All milkweeds have a maturation and development time.
